Release notes

What's new in Lento

Small, steady improvements, a little at a time. Here's what changed lately and what's coming next.

Latest

Version 1.0

Lento is ready for its first testers. An invited family can find the website, sign up with a code, connect a bank, get a starter budget, see where they stand on financial independence, and ask for help.

A guided start with Lento

  • First-run setup: connect your bank (and any other accounts: a credit card, a partner's checking), then a starter budget built from your own spending, then a few basics for financial independence. Every step can be skipped; "Finish setting up" on Home keeps track of what's left.
  • Lento shows you around: Lento the sloth walks you through each step, and a short tour of Home points out what each number means (Help & feedback → "Show me around Home" replays it).
  • The numbers behind your starter budget: tap any line to see the transactions it came from and re-file anything that's in the wrong place.
  • Your financial-independence moment: right after setup, Lento shows the amount you'd need, what you have invested today, the date you'd get there at your current pace, and two ways to bring that date closer. It's a first estimate that gets sharper as more months come in.
  • A simple starter list: 24 plain categories; business categories appear only when you mark an account as business.

Help when you need it

  • Help & feedback in the sidebar, the phone menu and Settings. Your message reaches us by email, and the reply comes back to you.
  • Emails you can answer: every email from Lento can be replied to.

Safer accounts

  • Two-factor sign-in is required for new logins, and for everyone before connecting a bank. On a phone it's one tap to add to your authenticator.
  • Heads-up emails when your password changes, two-factor is turned off, someone joins your household, or the account is deleted.
  • Leaked passwords refused: a password found in public data breaches can't be chosen.
  • Your password and code are asked again before clearing data or disconnecting every bank.

Faster and smarter

  • No waiting after connecting a bank: your transactions appear right away while Lento sorts them in the background.
  • Ask Lento answers from a summary of your money and looks up just the transactions it needs, so answers come faster.
  • Connect bank says clearly when it can't open, with a Try again button.
